Unfortunately this also means that the number of suspect mails reaching my in tray has also risen pretty sharply as the filters try to keep up with the latest nonsense.</p>
<p>I can only remind you to make sure you have a decent anti-virus solution installed on your own machine as well as suitable anti-spyware defences. Perhaps more importantly, these tools are all fully updated.</p>
<p>While you are at it, be sure to check that whichever operating system you use is fully updated with the latest patches and enhancements. This is easy to overlook unless automatic updates are enabled, check it now as some spyware/malware turns the automatic facility off &#8211; which can get very nasty&#8230;</p>
